Parliament Member: Many Items Have Increased by 50% in the Past Month

In the past month, many items have become 50% more expensive, says a member of parliament.

An Iranian parliament member says the entire economic structure of the government is weak, which has led to rampant inflation and price hikes in the country.

According to ILNA, Jalal Mahmoudzadeh stated that in the month that has passed since the beginning of 2023, many items have increased in price by 50%. Even though this year is supposed to be the year of curbing inflation and boosting production, banks are not providing loans for production.

He mentioned regarding inflation in Iran and rising prices that people are standing in line for chicken priced at 85,000 tomans, and red meat has been removed from the tables of 90% of people. Trout has gone from 60,000 tomans to 175,000 tomans. These are essential goods, and the government’s economic team should address this.

The leader of the Islamic Republic declared in the New Year’s message for 2023 that this year would focus on curbing inflation and boosting production.
