People are also buying groceries and essential goods on installment

People are buying food and essential goods on installment plans as well.

Tasnim News Agency reports on the sale of essential goods to people on installment plans.

This news agency writes that after witnessing the sale of goods on installments in some markets like home appliances and carpets due to inflation and decreased purchasing power, this time the installment sale has reached essential goods as well, and one of the market-regulating essential goods distribution platforms has started this online.

In this plan, essential goods and other food items are offered interest-free in 5 installments with a ceiling of one million tomans.

In reaction to this news, the Ham-Mihan newspaper writes, ‘We don’t dare write about these things because we’d be accused of painting a bleak picture, but it seems the progress train has run over people so much that even one of the most important government media outlets is raising its voice against this bitter situation.’

Ham-Mihan expressed hope that their writing wouldn’t cause Tasnim to stop reflecting realities from now on.

Economists warn of great inflation or hyperinflation in the near future.
