Possibility of the Central Bank Governor’s Resignation Following Dollar Price Increase
Simultaneously with the momentary rise in prices in the currency and gold markets and the setting of new records, media in Iran reported on calls for the Central Bank Governor’s resignation.
According to reports from Iranian media, the price of the US dollar in the open currency market surpassed 38,000 tomans on Tuesday, December 13th, and the price of a full gold coin also exceeded 19 million tomans.
In recent days, some media in Iran have written that Masoud Mir-Kazemi, the head of the Planning and Budget Organization, intends to resign from this position and has stated that he will leave the government after presenting and approving next year’s budget.
Additionally, rumors about Ali Salehabadi stepping down from the position of Central Bank Governor have been published, which he himself has denied.
