Qalibaf: People want to see a reduction in the exchange rate

Qalibaf mentioned that while the government has set the exchange rate at 23,000 tomans, and now according to the parliament’s resolution, the market exchange rate is sold at 2% below the average rate, this has created a 300 trillion toman difference in government revenues.

On the other hand, in a non-public session, we discussed decision-making regarding the reduction of the exchange rate and the government’s measures in this regard. People expect to see a decrease in the currency price, but at the same time, an increase in the exchange rate leads to higher government revenues, which raises the suspicion that the government itself is interested in increasing the currency price.
