Russia Denies Allegations of Interference in Turkish Elections

Russia denies accusations of meddling in Turkey’s elections

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the leader of Turkey’s opposition who hopes to win in Sunday’s elections, has accused Russia of spreading false news and fake videos.

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu accused Russia of creating fake videos and spreading incorrect information, apparently referring to a fake sexual video of Muharrem İnce, an opponent of Erdoğan, who withdrew from the elections yesterday.

Kılıçdaroğlu said if you want our friendship to continue after May 15, the day after the elections, leave Turkey alone. He stated that we are still in favor of cooperation and friendship.

Dmitry Peskov, Vladimir Putin’s spokesperson, said those who have conveyed such claims to Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu are liars and that Russia highly values its relationship with Turkey.
