The emergency director of Sina Hospital: Most protesters were injured in the eyes, lungs, and genitals
Hossein Kermanpour, the emergency director of Sina Hospital, stated that the greatest concerns people had about their injuries were related to severe bleeding, eye injuries, brain and internal bleeding, or orthopedic issues. In any case, those using these pellets often haven’t received proper training and were firing them from a close distance, which led to increased injuries.
As far as we have understood, the most injuries were first to the eyes and then to the muscles. In some cases, pellets also hit the lungs and genitals. There were also fractures due to baton strikes.
