State News Agency Mehr: In Some Areas of Tehran, Properties Are Traded in Dollars

The state-run Mehr News Agency reports that in some areas of Tehran, properties are being traded in dollars.

The state-run Mehr News Agency in Iran states that property owners in certain areas of Tehran are only dealing in dollars for residential units.

According to this report, before renting out or selling residential units, owners stipulate that transactions are only to be conducted in dollars or euros.

The decline in the value of the Iranian rial, the national currency, has led Iranians in recent years to prefer trading or offering services in stable foreign currencies to preserve the value of their assets.

It was previously reported that some doctors in Iran are demanding their fees in currencies such as dollars and euros.
