Statement by 90 Political Activists Against Police Plan

Dozens of Iranian civil and political activists announced in a statement released on Saturday, April 15, that they stand alongside Iranian women for freedom of clothing and hold the regime responsible for the consequences of insulting virtuous Iranian women.

In this statement, signed by activists such as Mohammad Nourizad, Fatemeh Sepehri, Giti Pourfazel, Kamal Jafari Yazdi, Pouran Nazemi, and Zartosht Ahmadi Ragheb, those who believe in hijab are asked to separate themselves from the oppressors to avoid sharing in the disgrace and shame of the government.

Ninety civil and political activists have signed this statement, declaring that we must strive with all our might for freedom and democracy.

This statement considers the ‘Women, Life, Freedom’ movement as a lasting part of the history of Iranian struggles against tyranny and declares that legitimate defense is the people’s right, stating that after the November 2019 massacre, we became certain that we must be prepared to consciously defend ourselves and our compatriots in the streets.
