Tehran Emergency Services Face a Shortage of 1400 Personnel

Tehran’s emergency services are facing a shortage of 1,400 personnel.

Mohammad Esmaeil Tavakoli, the head of Tehran Province’s emergency services, announced a shortage of 1,400 personnel in his organization due to budget deficits.

According to ILNA, Tavakoli stated that, considering the inflation rate we have, we are facing almost the same budget deficit as last year.

The head of Tehran Province’s emergency services emphasized that this budget deficit affects the supply of spare parts for ambulances and motor ambulances, our medical supplies, and even the salaries and benefits of the staff.

Tavakoli also reported that 80% of Tehran’s emergency fleet is worn out.

Jafar Miadfar, the head of the country’s emergency organization, also recently reported that 3,000 ambulances in the country are worn out.

The shortage of personnel and the wear and tear of the emergency fleet in Tehran come at a time when geologists constantly warn of the possibility of an earthquake in Tehran. This is one of the dangers that, if it occurs, will require the residents of Tehran to have abundant personnel and equipment in the emergency services.
