The government is interested in increasing car prices

Mehdi Dadfar, Secretary of the Car Importers Association, said that even if we import brand new cars for free and as charity, with the current market engineering, these cars wouldn’t reach people for less than one billion tomans.

Dadfar, explaining why Chinese cars are cheaper in Iraq compared to Iran, stated that the engineered market pricing by the government is the reason. This means the government itself is driving towards this. If the environment opens up a bit, prices will definitely drop. All over the world, the prices of Chinese, European, and American cars and brands are clear. Even brand new imported cars from China have export incentives, meaning they have offers. Therefore, this process indicates nothing but the government’s own interest in increasing car prices.
