Towards a Historic Agreement Between Lebanon and Israel
A prominent figure from the U.S. President’s foreign policy team is set to travel to the Middle East to prepare for the signing ceremony of a historic agreement between Lebanon and Israel regarding maritime borders and gas extraction from fields located in these areas. Having secured special concessions for Lebanon in recent months, he aims to facilitate new energy sources for Lebanon through further negotiations with Egypt and Jordan, bringing electricity and gas to the country. This key figure in Western foreign policy in the Middle East is focused on stabilizing Lebanon’s situation, and his negotiations with the World Bank to assist this country are serious. He has even declared that the passage of pipelines from Syria to Lebanon is not significant in terms of sanctions discussions, to ensure maximum assistance to Lebanon.
