University of Tehran on the Suspension of Mojtaba Mojtahedi's Salary: He Went on a Research Trip Without University Approval

The University of Tehran stated about the suspension of Mojtaba Mojtahedi’s salary that he had embarked on a research trip without obtaining the university’s consent.

Following the publication of a letter by Mojtaba Mojtahedi, a faculty member of the Faculty of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science at the Faculty of Sciences, regarding the suspension of his salary and his travel ban, the University of Tehran has issued a response.

Dr. Mojtahedi mentioned in a post on his Instagram that he had been subjected to implicit threats from some university officials due to his opposition to forcing students to attend classes during the ongoing protests. He attributed the suspension of his salary and his travel ban to these statements.

The Islamic Association of Students of the Faculty of Sciences also reposted this message, stating that the organization condemns the injustice done to this university professor and demands the restoration of his rights. They urge other students, professors, and staff of the Faculty of Sciences not to remain silent about this injustice.
