Mohammad Nokhodi Won Bronze

Mohammad Nokhodi, the Iranian freestyle wrestler in the 79 kg category, defeated Orkhan Abbasov from Azerbaijan with a score of 10-0 and secured the bronze medal at the World Wrestling Championships.

In 2021 and 2022, Nokhodi also won two silver medals, both times losing to Jordan Burroughs.

Today, in the semifinals of the 2023 World Wrestling Championships in Belgrade, Serbia, Rahman Amouzad Khalili competed against Ismail Musukaev, a freestyle wrestler from Hungary, in the 65 kg category and lost 5-6.

Mojtaba Goleij, another representative of Iran in the final two weights of freestyle wrestling, lost to Abdulrashid Sadulaev in the quarterfinals of the 97 kg category. With the Russian wrestler’s elimination in the subsequent rounds, Goleij was also eliminated.

Yesterday, the Iranian national freestyle wrestling team won one gold and two silver medals at the World Championships in Belgrade.
