Differences among EU member countries regarding migrants
The ministers of the 27 EU member countries gathered again on Friday to discuss the responsibility of accepting asylum seekers entering the union.
The number of asylum applications in EU member countries reached the highest level since the Syrian refugee crisis in 2015 and 2016.
The increase in the number of asylum applications in EU member countries has led to tensions among these countries, and countries like Italy and Greece, which are the initial destinations for refugees on the Mediterranean coast, have consistently asked other EU members to accept a portion of the refugees on their soil.
