Internet connection in Zahedan has been disconnected

Internet connection in Zahedan has been disconnected.

NetBlocks website, which monitors internet communication networks worldwide, reported on Friday that internet in Zahedan city has been cut off on the eve of Friday prayers.

During the seven months since the start of protests in Iran, Zahedan and other cities in Sistan and Baluchestan province have witnessed the arrival of protesters to the streets every Friday. The protesters’ march usually takes place after a speech by influential Sunni cleric, Moulavi Abdulhamid Ruhani.

The internet shutdown once again demonstrates that the government is trying to prevent the spread of news related to this province by any means necessary.
