China increases military budget to address security challenges

The leadership of the Chinese government and Communist Party has defended their policy of allocating increasing expenses to the defense forces.

Wang Chao, the spokesperson for the National People’s Congress in Beijing, stated that the People’s Republic must surpass complex challenges to ensure its security and take on the critical responsibilities of a large country. He added that the recent increase in defense budget has been balanced and proportional.

The Chinese National People’s Congress is holding its annual session from Monday, March 5th to around a week. On the first day, the government and party leadership will present their assessment of the economic growth indicator for the current year and how much budget will be allocated to the military.
