Israel criticizes Iran's seizure of two Iranian ships in Brazil

Israel’s criticism of the docking of two Iranian warships in Brazil

According to Reuters, Israel reacted on Friday, March 11th, to the docking of two Iranian warships in the port of Rio de Janeiro and asked the President of Brazil to cancel permission for this action.

The Makran and Dena ships had entered the coastal waters of Brazil some time ago and were supposed to anchor in the port of Rio in the final days of January.

The planned docking of the two Iranian ships coincided with the trip of Luis Inacio Lula da Silva to Washington to meet with his American counterpart, Joe Biden.

It is said that da Silva, under pressure from the United States, delayed the anchoring of these two ships. The Brazilian Foreign Minister considered speculating about the influence of US pressure on this decision to be incorrect.
