Iran sends an ambassador to the UAE after 8 years

Iran is sending an ambassador to the United Arab Emirates after 8 years.

According to ISNA, following an agreement between Iran and the UAE last year, the two countries decided to elevate their diplomatic relations to the ambassadorial level. In this regard, last year, Saif Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi, the UAE ambassador to Iran, returned to Tehran after 7 years and officially resumed his activities as the UAE ambassador to Iran.

Based on this report, in late December 2022, Ali Baqeri, the political deputy of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced in an interview that the Iranian ambassador to the UAE has been appointed and is undergoing the final administrative procedures. He will be dispatched to Abu Dhabi in the near future.

According to news sources, the new Iranian ambassador to the UAE is Reza Ameri, the Director General of Iranians Abroad at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
