Iran reiterates its claim of prisoner exchange with America
Nasser Kanaani, the spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, once again repeated Iran’s claim of engaging in talks for the exchange of prisoners with America
This is despite America rejecting this claim and stating that there are no negotiations with Iran on this matter
Mr. Kanaani stated in his weekly press conference that discussions regarding the exchange of prisoners and other related issues with the US are ongoing through intermediaries
Ned Price, the spokesperson for the US Department of State, said to BBC Persian yesterday that Iran’s statements about the agreement on prisoner exchange are completely false and extremely cruel, only causing more pain and suffering for the families of these prisoners
Following that, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacted and stated that an official representative of America signed this agreement through an intermediary last year but has not implemented it under various pretexts
Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, had previously stated on Monday that we have reached an agreement on the issue of prisoner exchange between Iran and America in recent days
