Detention of an individual on charges of producing inappropriate clips in Gorgan

The public and revolutionary prosecutor of Golestan province stated that an individual has been detained in the city of Gorgan on charges of producing indecent clips in Alangdarreh Forest Park.

Mahmoud Spanlou, the public and revolutionary prosecutor of Golestan province, said on Friday night to reporters that one of the bloggers on social networks in the city of Gorgan, who had produced a clip on the topic of free hugs and shared it on social media, has been identified and arrested.

In recent months, an increasing number of women in Iran have been moving around in public places without the mandatory headscarf and government-prescribed clothing, and they have been sharing their pictures on social networks.

Earlier, Ahmadreza Radan, the commander-in-chief of Iran’s law enforcement, had issued a threatening warning to citizens, stating that from Sunday, April 15, individuals who do not comply with the government’s mandatory dress code will be identified and referred to the judicial system.
