Biden must extend the national emergency declaration regarding Iran.

Joe Biden, the President of the United States, has extended the national emergency declaration against the Islamic Republic for another year, according to a statement from the White House. Iran’s actions continue to pose a threat to national security.

The White House announced on Friday, March 19th, that Joe Biden, the President of the United States, has extended the national emergency declaration for another year, starting from March 15th, 2023.

According to the White House statement, on March 15th, 1995, the President issued Executive Order 12957 to address the extraordinary and unusual threat posed by the Islamic Republic against the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States.

On May 6th, 1995, with the issuance of Executive Order 12959, extensive sanctions were imposed against Iran to counter these threats.
