Turkey Establishes Office for Protecting Iran's Interests in Albania

Turkey is establishing an office in Albania to protect Iran’s interests.

Seven months after the diplomatic relations between Albania and the Islamic Republic of Iran were severed, Iran agreed to allow Turkey to safeguard Tehran’s interests in Tirana. Last year, in response to Iran’s cyber attacks, Albania expelled all Iranian diplomats from its soil. On Sunday, the second of Ordibehesht, the Iranian Foreign Minister, in a conversation with his Turkish counterpart, agreed to Turkey’s establishment of an office to protect Iran’s interests in Albania. Iranian domestic media reported this news, and Hossein Amir-Abdollahian expressed his appreciation for Turkey’s efforts in a phone call with Mevlut Cavusoglu.
