Turkey has become nuclear

Simultaneously with the official ceremony of delivering the first shipment of nuclear fuel to Turkey’s first atomic power plant by the Russians, Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced in his speech at the ceremony via video conference that his country has joined the club of nuclear energy countries in the world with a 60-year delay.

Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, also participated in the ceremony of delivering the first shipment of nuclear fuel to the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkey via video conference. This power plant was built by the Russian state-owned company, Rosatom, for Turkey.

Putin stated in his online speech at the ceremony that the Akkuyu nuclear power system is one of the most modern and reliable security systems in the world.

Continuing his remarks on this important day for Turkey, Erdogan added that by receiving nuclear fuel through air and sea routes, the Akkuyu nuclear power plant has obtained the status of a nuclear facility.
