Generals’ War in Sudan
At least thirty people were killed and 168 others were injured in clashes between the army and the Rapid Support Forces. There are concerns that the military confrontation may further delay the power transfer to civilians.
Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, witnessed violent clashes on Sunday, April 26th, between paramilitary Rapid Support Forces and the army, who have been in power since the coup in 2019. News sources reported at least 30 fatalities, including three UN staff members.
The Sudanese Doctors Committee, as one of the main groups in the current Sudanese movement, stated in a statement that at least 25 people lost their lives during this military violence. Meanwhile, The New York Times reported 30 casualties, citing American sources. The number of injured in the military confrontation between the two armed groups was reported to be at least 168, according to the Medical Association.
