The leader of the Islamic Republic attributed the discovery of the hijab to the enemy.
Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic, has once again addressed the issue of mandatory hijab in his latest remarks.
In a meeting with the heads of the branches of power and some government officials, he referred to the hijab as a religious and legal restriction, and stated that the discovery of the hijab is religiously and politically forbidden.
He said that many of those who discover the hijab would definitely not do so if they knew the political motives behind their actions.
He referred to the discovery of the hijab as an enemy plan and called for the implementation of programs to counter it.
This is not the first time that during the months following the killing of Mahsa Amini and the subsequent protests, the leader of the Islamic Republic has addressed this issue.
In December, during the protests, he stated that Islamic hijab is undoubtedly a religious necessity and non-negotiable for women.
These recent statements by Mr. Khamenei come at a time when a large number of Iranian women have abandoned mandatory hijab in public places in recent months.
