Shiva Qasemipour, a representative of the parliament, says that imposing mandatory hijab is inappropriate

Shiva Ghasemipour, a representative in the parliament, says that imposing compulsory hijab is inappropriate.

This representative from Marivan and Sarvabad in Kurdistan province has stated that personally, I believe it is inappropriate to forcibly impose hijab, especially if such an incident occurs in schools.

Following the killing of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian Kurdish girl, during the arrest by the Basij forces, widespread protests against compulsory hijab have erupted in Iran, and the protesters have demanded the overthrow of the government.

Ms. Ghasemipour also commented on the circulation of news about the screening of indecent films in some schools in the country, saying that if these news are true, she is sorry for the person who has created such conditions, and she has promised to follow up on the matter.
