Xi Jinping has once again become the President of China.
On Friday, February 28th, the representatives of the National People’s Congress elected Xi Jinping as the President of China for the third consecutive term.
Nearly three thousand representatives of the Chinese Parliament, the National People’s Congress, voted for the 69-year-old Xi. He had no competitors in this election and was the only candidate.
International media outlets say that Mr. Xi’s election as the President and his leadership of the Communist Party mark the end of decades-long power struggles among the elites in the country and indicate a desire to strengthen his one-party rule.
