The Mahsa Law proposal has been approved in the United States.
The House Foreign Affairs Committee of the United States Representatives has approved a proposal known as Mahsa Amini today.
If this proposal becomes law, it would require the US government to sanction the leader and president of Iran for human rights violations and destabilizing the region.
In addition, this proposal calls for sanctioning the leadership institution, the presidency institution, appointed officials of the Iranian leader, and affiliated foundations and companies.
The Mahsa Amini Law proposal will also be reviewed in the House Financial and Judiciary Committees before being sent to the House of Representatives for voting.
So far, more than 90 representatives from both the Democratic and Republican parties have supported this proposal.
Converting this resolution into law requires a similar action in the Senate.
