The representative of Chabahar in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, addressing the government officials, mentioned the blocking of messaging apps and social networks in Iran and asked, when both you and ourselves are actively present on all platforms, what right have you restricted people’s access to?
Moeinaddin Saeidi, in an open session on Wednesday, August 15, added about the increasing restrictions on the internet in Iran, stating that virtual filtering is completely contrary to Article 9 of the Constitution and your electoral statements.

Previously, Jalal Rashidi Kouchi, another member of the council, had also said that we practically witness the formation of a profitable market and behind-the-scenes manipulations of filtering, in which heavy financial transactions of 40 to 50 billion tomans take place.
Internet filtering has always existed in Iran, but it has intensified during recent nationwide protests, and WhatsApp and Instagram have also joined the list of filtered platforms.
