International Amnesty demands investigation into allegations of sexual assault by Taliban members in Sar-e-Pul
In recent days, the claim of sexual assault against a woman and her two young daughters in Sar-e-Pul province has sparked widespread reactions. A local Taliban official has confirmed this incident and stated that an individual has been arrested in connection with it. In a statement, Amnesty International reporter Zaman Sultan has said that the details of the group sexual assault on a woman and her daughters, with Taliban members accused of committing it, are being revealed. This horrifying level of violation is the latest shocking human rights abuse record that we are witnessing in Afghanistan today. In Amnesty International’s statement, it is mentioned that the alleged assault incident took place on the night of February 28, 2023, in Khanqah village, Sozma Qala district, Sar-e-Pul province, Afghanistan, according to reports. It is reported that two Taliban members forcibly entered the houses at 11 pm and sexually assaulted a woman and her two daughters.
So far, only the arrest of one person in connection with this allegation has been reported.
