Furthermore, he held the position of the Joint Staff Commander of the Navy of the Revolutionary Guard from 1364 to 1368 for a period of four years. Ahmadian also served as the deputy commander of the Revolutionary Guard Navy for eight years, from 1368 to 1376.
Ali Akbar Ahmadian was appointed as the commander of the Navy of the Revolutionary Guards (Sepah) after reaching the position of Minister of Defense in the first government of Seyyed Mohammad Khatami, replacing Ali Shamkhani.
