This American family film, which is the second adaptation of a popular Nintendo game, had a sales of $377 million in its first five days of global release. The previous record belonged to Frozen 2, which had sold $358 million in a similar timeframe.
David Gross, an analyst of sales figures, described the sales of this film as extraordinary and said that it could easily become the number one film of 2023.
In the Super Mario Brothers movie, Chris Pratt voices Mario instead of the Italian plumber, and Jack Black provides the voice for the villainous character, Bowser.
