Majid Salehi still hasn’t received my prizes.
Majid Salehi, who won the Crystal Simorgh for Best Actor at the Fajr Film Festival last year, announced during the closing ceremony that he would dedicate his monetary prize to the kind people of Khoi. In an Instagram story addressed to the festival officials, he wrote:
I beg the responsible officials, with conscience and honor, to give me a car as the prize for Best Actor. I proudly dedicated it to the oppressed and compassionate people affected by the earthquake in Khoi. I even entrusted the task to Hadi Hajazif, who, along with Ms. Aida Panahande, was helping their fellow citizens during that period.
Unfortunately, after two and a half months, they still haven’t delivered it. I wish it had been done at least on Eid night, so it could have been a small and insignificant help for the dear children of Khoi, who needed it more in those days.
Thank God it’s not for myself to imagine being a financial beneficiary.
