Egypt's relations with Iran depend on the developments in Tehran and Riyadh's relations

Egypt’s relations with Iran depend on the developments in Tehran and Riyadh’s relations.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister says that the developments in Tehran and Riyadh are very important, and the expansion of Cairo’s relations with Iran depends on these developments.

Sami Shoukry, who is currently on a trip to Turkey, said in a press conference on Friday, April 15th, that Cairo will evaluate the recent developments in the relations between Riyadh and Tehran, and the upcoming meeting of Arab countries in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is also a good opportunity to assess its advantages.

He added that Egypt will evaluate the recent developments between Iran and Saudi Arabia and take steps within the framework of this evaluation.

Egypt is considered a close ally of Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, Egypt and Iran have not had diplomatic relations since 1979, and besides the disagreements over regional issues, Egypt has repeatedly accused Iran of trying to promote Shiaism in the country.
