Mathematics teacher in Khomeinishahr sentenced to three months suspension from service

A math teacher in Khomeynishahr has been sentenced to three months of suspension from service.

According to the report of the Coordination Council of Teachers’ Associations, Hamid Majiri, the math secretary of Khomeynishahr, has been suspended from teaching for three months on charges of promoting against the system, supporting the women’s rights movement, and encouraging students to tear up pictures of Ali Khamenei from textbooks.

This teacher, who has 29 years of service experience, was arrested at his workplace by security forces during the nationwide uprising on October 12, 2022, and was sentenced to seven months in prison.

Majiri was finally released from prison at the end of his sentence.

Hamid Majiri was also sentenced to three years of exile in 2007 on charges of participating in the Gilan Coordination Council meeting.

Prior to this, security forces had arrested Suleiman Abdi, a teacher from Saqqez, on February 17, 2023.
