Iran International's Response to Saudi Arabia: We are an Independent Network

Iran International’s response to Saudi Arabia’s remarks: We are an independent network.

The Wall Street Journal has reported on Beijing’s new role as a major player in the Middle East.

Part of The Wall Street Journal’s report has gained special importance for Persian-speaking audiences and has sparked reactions on social media.

The Wall Street Journal, citing officials from both countries, wrote that Saudi Arabia has accepted Iran International’s critical tone towards the Islamic Republic.

Iran has accused this television network, which is allegedly financed by Arab merchants according to The Wall Street Journal, of inciting unrest in the country, and the Minister of Intelligence of the Islamic Republic has called it a terrorist organization.

However, a spokesperson for VOA Media, the owner of Iran International, has rejected these statements in an interview with The Wall Street Journal and called the network independent.

Iran International has stated that Iran-Saudi Arabia relations have never influenced our news coverage and editorial policies.
