The Ministry of Health had at least 17 deaths and 500 injuries on this year's Thursday of Surah

The Ministry of Health had at least 17 deaths and 500 injuries in this year’s Wednesday Fire Festival.

The Ministry of Health of the Islamic Republic announced that the number of fatalities in Wednesday Fire Festival incidents from the beginning of February until Wednesday, March 13th, is 17.

Saeed Karimi, the Deputy for Treatment at the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education, also added that 501 people were injured during these incidents. 88 of the injured have been hospitalized.

This health official considered the eyes to be the most vulnerable organ and stated that 133 people have suffered eye injuries so far.

The Deputy for Treatment at the Ministry of Health listed the injuries to individuals during the Wednesday Fire Festival as eye injuries, severed limbs, burns, and cuts. Jafar Miadfar, the head of the country’s emergency services, also announced that there have been 60 cases of severed limbs and 186 cases of burns since the beginning of March.
