The Russian Foreign Minister accuses Western countries of inciting the people of Georgia.
Sergei Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, accuses Western countries of inciting widespread protests in Georgia.
The Georgian government was forced to backtrack on a law that the people were demanding to be repealed, following extensive public protests in the city of Tbilisi.
Mr. Lavrov compared the protests in front of the Georgian Parliament over the past three days to the Maidan protests that led to the overthrow of the Moscow-backed government in Ukraine in 2014.
He told Russian state television that these protests have been organized from abroad to create a provocative element on Russia’s borders.
The Russian Foreign Minister did not provide any evidence to support his claim.
