Broadcast of televised confessions of Ali Younesi and Amirhossein Moradi

Channel 3 of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting aired the televised confessions of Ali Younesi and Amirhossein Moradi, two students from Sharif University, as part of a segment in the fabricated crime documentary.

It is unclear under what conditions Mr. Younesi and Mr. Moradi’s statements were recorded.

In this documentary, Ali Younesi and Amirhossein Moradi claim to be involved in the bombing incidents in Tehran and affiliated with anti-government groups.

Reza Younesi, brother of Ali Younesi, tweeted about the broadcast of these statements on Iranian television, saying that the regime, after three years, has resorted to airing forced confession videos of these two young men who, at the age of 20, endured two months of exhausting torture, including threats of sexual assault, solitary confinement, beatings, and being denied access to a lawyer, all without any contact with their families.

Ali Younesi and Amirhossein Moradi, two elite students from Sharif University, were arrested in April 2020 and sentenced to ten years in prison.
