After brief clashes and flights over certain areas near the capital, Khartoum is currently under a fragile calm.

Earlier, the Sudanese army agreed to extend the ceasefire for another 72 hours.

The Sudanese army announced that it has decided to extend the ceasefire for another 72 hours with the efforts of Saudi Arabia and the United States.

The Sudanese army stated in a statement that the command of the armed forces of this country, with the mediation of the United States and Saudi Arabia, has decided to extend the ceasefire for another 72 hours in order to create favorable conditions for the evacuation of foreigners and facilitate the humanitarian aspects for the people of Sudan.

Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson for the United Nations Secretary-General, stated in his daily press briefing that, according to information obtained from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), 9 children have lost their lives in the Sudanese clashes.
