Mehdi Karroubi’s message from house arrest: There is no way other than change

In a message to the Congress of the National Trust Party, Mehdi Karroubi talks about the determination and high spirits of his supporters and friends in the worst political and social conditions of the country.

A country without a party is one where factions rule over the government, the parliament, and the entire nation, engaging in power struggles. The Islamic Revolution was founded on the establishment of a republic in Iran, and a republic without a party has no meaning.

Passing laws that violate the rights of the people, such as anti-JCPOA bills, restricting cyberspace, intensifying punishments for those who are improperly veiled or unveiled, and most importantly, changing the election laws to disqualify a wide range of candidates, are all signs of the nation’s exclusion and absence.

Iran, which is rapidly falling behind in the development race, should not remain stagnant. The condition for development is the revival of trust – trust of the people in the government, trust of the people in reforms, and trust of the people in hope. However, trust can only be achieved through change, a change from within Iran, by the hands of the people, and without any violence.
