The meeting of US, Japan, and South Korea leaders at Camp David
The President of the United States and the leaders of South Korea and Japan agreed during a session held at Camp David, located outside of Washington DC, to deepen their military and economic cooperation.
The aim of this official agreement is to address the growing power of China and the threat of North Korea. The agreement includes establishing a trilateral hotline, annual summits, and regular military exercises.
In a joint statement, they accused China of engaging in dangerous and aggressive behavior in the South China Sea.
This historic meeting was welcomed due to the reconciliation between South Korea and Japan, who have had strained relations for decades.
China condemned this meeting and stated that it increases the risk of confrontation between rival parties.
