Ali Dayi’s conversation with the FIFA president about the Persian Gulf

Ali Dayi, who had traveled to Paris to participate in the FIFA Best Awards ceremony, informed about his conversation with the FIFA president regarding the use of a different name for the Persian Gulf.

The Gulf Nations Cup was held in Iraq under the name of the Arabian Gulf. FIFA president, the FIFA website, the Iraqi Prime Minister, and Mustafa Sadr did not use the term Persian Gulf.

The Iranian Football Federation announced that it will send detailed and solid historical documents to FIFA to correct the inaccurate trends contrary to international norms, referring to the name Persian Gulf on ancient maps.

It is unclear how FIFA will react to the potential follow-ups by the Iranian Football Federation, as the federation itself has shown no inclination to pursue its demands.
