It is not unlikely for an American official to resume nuclear talks

It is not unlikely for an American official to speculate about the resumption of negotiations on the Iran nuclear deal.

William H. Vickers, former Assistant Secretary of Defense, is not surprised by the influence of China’s policies in the Middle East over the past two decades. It wouldn’t be surprising if the next announcement regarding the resumption of Iran-US talks on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is once again mediated by China.

While I have doubts about the possibility or even the recommendation of such an agreement in the current circumstances, such announcements may be welcomed in Washington, but they will definitely be perceived in occupied Jerusalem as a reduction of the US and Israel’s deterrent against Iran.
