A 5-year-old boy, who is a victim of the recent earthquake in Turkey, has been found alone in the Netherlands.
A 5-year-old boy from Turkey, who claims to be a victim of the recent earthquake in the country, has been found only in the city of Maastricht in the south of the Netherlands.
Dutch authorities are investigating how this child, who doesn’t even know a single word of Dutch, ended up in the country.
In a statement released on the Instagram account of the Maastricht police under the title ‘Alone in the City’, it is stated that the 5-year-old boy from Turkey was wandering in the city center.
This Turkish-speaking boy, who doesn’t know Dutch, has been taken to the police station.
The 5-year-old boy was given food and ice cream at the police station and he spoke with a Turkish-speaking police officer.
The boy stated that he came from Turkey to the Netherlands and said that his parents are in Turkey and both were injured in the recent earthquake.
It has been reported that this child has been handed over to social workers.
There is no information about how the 5-year-old boy entered the Netherlands, but it is said that investigations are underway regarding this matter.
