Five people have died in Tanzania due to Marburg virus.

The Tanzanian Ministry of Health states that five individuals have lost their lives as a result of contracting Marburg disease, which originates from bats and is similar to Ebola.

Marburg virus spreads through close contact with the bodily fluids of an infected person or contaminated surfaces, such as contaminated bedding, and can result in death in 88% of cases. There is no cure for this disease.

According to the World Health Organization, the prevalence of Marburg disease has been confirmed in Angola, Congo, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, and Ghana.
