18% of China’s population contracted COVID-19 in 20 days
Bloomberg News reported on Friday, citing estimates from a senior Chinese government health official, that nearly 37 million people in China may have contracted COVID-19 in a single day this week.
This report, citing minutes from an internal meeting of China’s National Health Commission held on Wednesday, states that approximately 248 million people, which is about 18% of the population, may have been infected with the virus in the first 20 days of December.
