42 people have been arrested by the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence in connection with the attack on Shahcheragh.

Tasnim News Agency, close to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, quotes one of the deputy ministers of the Ministry of Intelligence as saying that 42 people have been detained in relation to the armed attack on Shahcheragh, Shiraz.

According to one of the directors of the Counterterrorism Deputy of the Ministry of Intelligence, 42 individuals who were only supporting these networks that were involved in this armed attack have been identified and arrested.

On the fourth of Aban this year, amidst the nationwide protests in Iran, the media reported a bloody armed attack in Shahcheragh, Shiraz, which resulted in several deaths and injuries.

Iranian authorities described this attack as terrorist, and Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, without providing evidence or details, blamed the nationwide protests for the killing of Mahsa Amini in the Gharchak Detention Center as the catalyst for this armed attack.

Some analysts have expressed doubts about this and believe that the armed attack may be used as an excuse for further government crackdown.
