Reuters reported that American forces stationed in Iraq and Syria were targeted in two separate attacks involving rockets and explosive drones within less than 24 hours.
According to Iraqi security sources and American officials, these attacks mark the first assault on American forces in the region after a nearly three-month hiatus.
Reuters on Tuesday, April 23, cited a U.S. official as saying that at least one drone has been fired towards the Ain al-Asad airbase in western Anbar province, Iraq, where American forces are stationed.
Prior to this attack, on Monday night, five rockets were also fired from northern Iraq towards one of the United States military bases in northern Syria.
