While the Israeli army is preparing for new attacks on Gaza and the city of Rafah, an Egyptian delegation is heading to Israel on Friday, April 26, with the aim of negotiation and proposing a ceasefire.
According to reports, the Israeli government is willing to reconsider its initial demand for the release of 40 hostages in exchange for halting the hostilities.
Israeli media reports indicate that the country is prepared to initially release 20 hostages, or according to a senior official, 33 hostages, mostly elderly and sick men and women over the age of 50.
Now, on Friday, an Egyptian delegation is scheduled to go to Tel Aviv to conduct negotiations on the exchange of prisoners between Hamas and Israel and to prevent an attack on Rafah.
